Thirty years ago, leaders at Luther Manor identified a growing challenge: increasing health care costs coupled with a population of older adults living longer with more complex health conditions. In response, they established Luther Manor Foundation as a charitable not-for-profit organization to provide long-term financial support for Luther Manor.
Since 1985, Luther Manor Foundation has provided grants totaling over $28 million to Luther Manor. This financial support (called the resident support fund) helps bridge the gap between public assistance/Medicaid reimbursement and the actual cost of care. As a result, no Luther Manor resident has ever been asked to leave because of their inability to pay. Today, Luther Manor Foundation continues to grow the resident support fund while simultaneously supporting other projects and programs around campus.
